Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park covers 130-acres and is the site of a major Civil War battle in which more than 20,000 Confederate and Union soldiers fought for military control of Northwest Arkansas. It offers visitors a unique view of the Civil War and its effect on the people of the Ozarks. The park is located 13 miles west of Fayetteville.
