Cape Coral, Florida

Cape Coral Florida Senior Travel Resort & Retirement Community

Cape Coral, Florida is a retirement community located on Florida’s southwest coast.

Cape Coral FL History

Cape Coral was built about 40 years ago by two land speculators who believed that the property's location on the coast of Southwest Florida provided abundant sunshine and many opportunities for waterfront living. The Rosen brothers purchased the property, platted the community and created more than 400 miles of canals. The brothers began a massive marketing campaign that resulted in the sale of nearly 350,000 residential sites, mainly to people who lived in other states.

Cape Coal incorporated in August 1970. Today, it is the largest city in Southwest Florida and it is the third largest city by land mass, with an area of 115 square miles. The City is on the estuary of the Caloosahatchee River, located between Sarasota and Marco Island. The area averages 335 days of bright sunshine each year (the other 30 days are just moderate sunshine). While the summers are very warm, humid and rainy, the winters in Cape Coral are beautiful.

Cape Coral Florida – Affordable Waterfront Housing

Cape Coral, Florida is a popular resort and retirement community in one of the fastest growing areas in the state. The supply and affordability of waterfront sites make Cape Coral one of the most attractive retirement communities on Florida’s Southwest Coast. It is mostly a residential city, although two industrial parks are in the area and a boat-building industry supports the community.
