Perhaps the best word to describe this interesting little city is beautiful! That’s especially true of the historic district, which looks exactly like you think it should with enormous live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss, flowering everything, cobblestone or brick streets, and lovely old mansions. The city abounds with ornate wrought iron designed by world-renowned craftsmen, and there are parks, parks, parks with statues, statues, statues. The place looks like a movie set, and, in fact, has been the setting for many movies.
You could spend a long time in Savannah and not see everything that’s worth seeing, but it’s a place that you could pretty much “do,” once you get there, in a couple of days–really lovely days.

Ah the food! It’s mandatory to try some of the best-anywhere southern cooking – a cuisine that’s soooo delicious because it’s loaded with all the things that make it that way (you know the ones I’m talking about). It’s not surprising that Savannah is the home of Food Network’s, Paula Deen. You should stop by her restaurant, if only to get one of those cute aprons from the gift shop that says “Put some south in your mouth.”
